UTS Opened Doors for Myself, and Others

UTS opened two big doors for me—one from behind and one in front, and a lot of windows too.

I joined the unification family in 1973 just six months away from getting my bachelor’s degree in mathematics at the University of Utah. After three and a half years of studying in Salt Lake City while on a swimming scholarship I decided to leave school and join the Unification Church. I have never regretted that offering.

Life at Barrytown by Dan Fefferman (UTS’86)

UTS was a Mecca for me, a place where God allowed me to absorb the knowledge of the Christian centuries in preparation to return to the mission field strengthened and enriched.

UTS Through Students' Eyes

The renovation of the UTS dining room is drawing major attention from givers, alumni and non-alumni alike. An unprecedented capital campaign is moving forward. The specific project for the Spring drive is the renovation of the Dining Room.

The Dining Room is the school's central community space. It is the premiere place to continue the renovation work that has brought great student satisfaction with the three totally new dorms.

The renovation of the dining room will improve the public perceptions of UTS. It will demonstrate that UTS is renewing itself, is expanding and has life. And it will enhance the actual experience the students and local community have, three times a day, and constantly as they pass through.

We are contracting a major local architectural firm. It is a full service firm that will oversee all phases of the project to completion. The project includes the beginning of a building master plan that will provide the context in which the dining room design is created. The renovation will be completed in time for the start of the Fall term.

The project, including master planning, design and construction, new furniture, lighting, legal and insurance costs, soup to nuts, will cost $155,000. This is our fundraising goal.

We have $74,000 in pledges at this point, including the commitment by a major donor to match everything received from April 10 until the completion of the campaign.
