By James W. Kovic

(Norwich, CT January 18, 2008) As we start a new year I feel that 2008 will be full of so many exciting changes and surprises. Not the least of which has to do with the release of my first novel, “Tamara’s Journey: The Purging Of A Tyrant” (PublishAmerica $34.95) scheduled for release on February 11th of this year.

I began writing “Tamara’s Journey” in the autumn of 2004. For me it was the culmination of years of commitment to my own spiritual journey begun as a twenty year old member of the Unification Church, continued through two years at the Unification Theological Seminary and finally maturing during a period of sabbatical while living with my wife and our two daughters in our home in Connecticut.

Much of the story takes place in Japan. The main character, Michiko Tanaka, is involved in a special project initiated by the Ministry of Antiquities to search for and uncover the remains of a sixteenth century emperor. Unknown to Ms. Tanaka is a lifetime she once lived as Emperor Kantagawa, one of the nations most powerful emperors who ascended the throne at a time of political implosion and now it is this same monarch she is searching for.

While in the cave of the emperor’s internment, Michiko is confronted by the beautiful apparition of the emperor’s wife, The Queen, who bestows upon her amazing superhuman abilities that render her invulnerable and with immense strength. Much to her surprise, but in obedience to her fate, she commits herself to fighting crime and helping people in trouble. But lurking somewhere behind the façade of her newly found purpose is a will, elusive and unknown to her still, that is calling her to begin to look beyond the ephemeral satisfaction of solving the world’s problems from a physical viewpoint and embrace the power within her eternal being.

Tamara’s Journey takes you into the mind and heart of one woman seeking to make peace with her past. Tamara’s Journey takes you where no superhero has ever dared tread before: questioning the validity of the actions she takes for granted to save the lives of the imperiled victims of crime and natural disaster because it is being done at the expense of their own free will and power. It is an adventure, a love story and a tale that goes deep into the human heart.
