Unification Theological Seminary, Barrytown campus is the former estate of Robert Livingston on the Hudson River. The Livingstons were a prominent family in the Hudson Valley in Colonial times. One, Philip Livingston was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. In the summer of 1868, 9-year-old Theodore Roosevelt came to Barrytown with his family and stayed for the month of August, while the Aspinwall’s were away.

The Doctor of Ministry degree was first approved by The American Association of Theological Schools (now ATS) in 1972, with significant growth occurring in the number and scope of these programs soon after its inception.

UTS congratulates its former student, alumnus, benefactor and Board Chair, Dr. Chang Shik Yang, on his promotion to the presidency of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification, Korea.

Dr. Yang, from this new position you will guide the flagship church in the homeland of our worldwide movement for ideal families and world peace. You will provide wise and experienced consultation to our new international president, Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, and insure effective implementation of the vision he generates through his profound love for True Parents and the spirituality of kingdom-living. This is a crucial role in the evolution of our True Parents' global providence.
