Transcripts

There are two kind of transcripts: official transcripts with signature and seal of UTS in a sealed envelope; and student copies of transcripts. Official transcripts cost $5.00/US each and will be sent preferably to the address of the prospective school or employer. Acceptable payments are in cash, check, moneyorder, and Visa or Mastercard. Official transcripts will be mailed only after receipt of the fee. Any special delivery charges (e.g. Express Mail) will be added to the cost. Students copies are free and will be sent to the student's address. In order to release any transcript - official or student copy - the student needs to sign a release form. Please print out the following form and mail or fax it to UTS, attn. Registrar's Office. If you don't have a printer available, a handwritten request with the information asked for will do just fine. For Alumni only: Upgrading of your Diploma to a Master's Degree

We have good news for all you graduates out there who graduated before we got our accreditation from New York State (1986). It has taken some time to reach an agreement with the State Education Department about the conferral of degrees on students in your situation. At this point, the SED has approved awarding transfer credit "as merited and appropriate" for the course work you did previously at the Seminary and apply them to a Master's Degree. However, you must complete all current degree requirements which are quite different now from when you were at Barrytown. By now you will know that UTS changed from the trimester to the semester system in Fall 2006. As a result of this change it has become easier for you to receive your accredited degree. The most recent evaluations showed that students needed between zero and three courses, with the majority needing Korean and/or field education. Both these requirements are available as distance learning opportunities. In order to determine how much or little work you have to do in order to get your degree, send a request to the Registrar - with your signature - for an evaluation. Include your current address, and make sure you include the name under which you attended UTS. If you requested an evaluation prior to Fall 2006, you may want to re-apply. You could be pleasantly surprised.
